Chasing Something Bigger

Quote

“Don’t ever let somebody tell you you can’t do something.”

— The Pursuit of Happyness

I chose a quote from the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness” because the message feels motivating and realistic at the same time. The quote, “Don’t ever let somebody tell you you can’t do something,” stands out because it reflects perseverance, self-belief, and continuing to chase goals even when life becomes difficult.

I used an image from the movie because the visual emotion in the scene matches the meaning behind the quote. I wanted the design to feel inspirational without looking overly dramatic. By placing the quote directly over the image, it creates a stronger connection between the words and the emotions shown in the film.

This movie has stayed meaningful to a lot of people because it shows struggle in a very human way. The story is not just about success it is about surviving uncertainty, rejection, pressure, and still continuing forward. That message made the quote feel more personal and relatable to me.

Creating this piece reminded me how powerful movie quotes can become outside of the films themselves. A single line can connect to people’s real experiences and become its own form of storytelling when combined with imagery and design.
